Private by design
Your exact location is never shown to other riders. Ever.
A map of riders only works if people trust it. So privacy is not a setting you hunt for - it is the default.
Approximate location only
Other riders see you in an area, never on a precise pin. The only exception is a live-location share you start yourself - for example, to guide an SOS responder to you - and it is consent-scoped and time-limited. You turn it off, it is off.
Opt-in, status-driven presence
You are on the map only when you set a status that puts you there. No continuous GPS tracking, no background trail, no silent broadcasting. Go invisible any time.

Is Ridekin free?
Yes - and the part that keeps you safe always will be. The safety net (roadside SOS, basic presence on the map, and basic chat) is free forever and never sits behind a paywall. The optional paid extras live around transactions and trust, never the safety net: a verified badge, promoted marketplace listings, featured spots for service pros, event ticketing, and insurance-partner referrals. Use only the mutual-aid core and you never pay.
Is it only for roadside help?
No - mutual aid is the heart of it, but Ridekin is also where the community lives: browse and join communities and events with group chat and multi-stage series, buy and sell parts on a local marketplace, book a mechanic from the service directory, and share short ride clips. The free safety net stays the same underneath it all.
Does it track my location?
No. There is no continuous GPS tracking and no background trail. You appear on the map only when you choose a status that puts you there, and other riders only ever see an approximate area - never your exact spot. The one exception is a live-location share you start yourself for a specific person (like an SOS responder); it is time-limited and you can stop it at any moment.
How does SOS work?
SOS is a peer-to-peer broadcast to riders near you that you need a hand - it is explicitly not an emergency or roadside-assistance service, and it does not replace calling the emergency services. It works on your last known location, so it can still go out even when you have lost signal. If a rider responds, you can choose to share your live location with just them so they can find you.
Who is on the map?
Other motorcyclists who have opted in and set a status. Profiles are anchored to a real bike-owner identity (the same account as the Garagely garage app), and every interaction builds a reputation through reviews - so the map is a community of accountable riders, not anonymous strangers.
Which regions can I use it in?
The apps will be available worldwide in the app stores, but we grow the community deliberately - region by region, starting in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. We seed each area with hosts and active riders before opening it up, so you are not the only marker on an empty map. Join the waitlist and tell us where you ride.
How is this different from a Telegram chat or a route app?
Route and logging apps are about content - where you went. Group chats are a feed with no location or trust layer. Ridekin is about presence and aid right now, on a map, with a reputation graph so you know who you are meeting. It is the live, location-aware layer for the mutual aid riders already do informally.
